Lhasa is capital of Tibet and the former home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Rich in cultural heritage, there are many things to see and experience in Lhasa. We will visit the Potola, the former palace of the Dali Lama, and the Sara, Debunk, and Jokhang monasteries.

Itinerary Details

Day 01: Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Day 3 : Fly (1 hr.) to Lhasa
over crossing the highest Himalayan ranges of the world. Transfer and check-in to your hotel. Full rest for acclimatization - Hotel.

Day 04-05: In Lhasa
Two full day sightseeing tour to Lhasa including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazaar, Potala Palace, Brepung & Sera Monasteries. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06: Lhasa - Xigatze (3,900 m) 280 km
Scenic drive to Xigatse, to the west of Lhasa through the northern road. The drive is scenic as the road drives along the valley made by Brahmaputra River (Yarlung Tsagpo). Overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Xigatze - Gyantse (3,950 m) 90 km
Morning sight-seeing to the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery. Drive to Gyantse and visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Gyantse - Tsedang (3,400 m) 29 km
Full day picturesque drive crossing over Karola (5,010 m), Kambala (4794 m), and colorful river Yamdrok Lake. Continue drive along the Tibetan lifeline river Bramha Putra (Yarlung Tsangpo) on to Tsedang - Overnight

Day 09: Tsedang - Samye - Tsedang 140 km
Early morning drive to put-in point by the side of the Bramha Putra River and cross the river by a local made motor boat (1 hr.). Continue a short (30 min) drive to a truck to Samye Monastery. Explore Samye and drive back to Tsedang. Late afternoon, visit Yumbulakhang & also Thandruk Monastery (time permitting) - Overnight at

Day 10: Tsedang - Kathmandu
Early morning drive (2 hrs) to Gongaar airport for departure flight to Kathmandu
